With roughly a month to go before the unrestricted free-agency period in the NFL begins, here’s a quick look at which players elevated their game and which perhaps took a step backward when it came to 2013.

Be it a bad season or even a bad stretch, perception can become financial reality rather quickly when it comes to this league.

Here is the customary reminder: All eight of these individuals can be re-signed by their teams before March 11. So before you make up that list, make sure you check it twice.

Women's Olympic Downhill Ski Training Run Delayed After Jump Ruled Too Dangerous

The demands of Sochi's slopes have incurred further criticism after the women's downhill ski training was put on hold due to one of the jumps being deemed too big.

According to the Associated Press (h/t CBC's official Sochi 2014 website), three racers lodged complaints after going through their paces on the Thursday run, commenting that they were getting too much air.

CBC confirmed through their official Sochi Twitter account that it's a jump near the race's finish that's drawn the ire of some:

Aaron Craft and Ohio State Making Final Stand After Crucial Road Win over Iowa

After picking up a huge 76-69 victory over Iowa on Tuesday night, it would appear we wrote off Aaron Craft and the Ohio State Buckeyes far too soon.
When the Midseason Top 25 was announced for the Wooden Award in late January, it was just the latest time that Craft was given the benefit of the doubt. In the four games prior to the announcement, Craft had committed 19 turnovers while tallying just 19 assists. Ohio State lost all four games.
Yet there he was, allegedly one of the 25 players most deserving of eventually being crowned the best in the country.
Even his biggest fan knew people would argue he didn't belong.

Chris Walker Makes Florida SEC Favorite After Debut vs. Missouri

It’s not very often that the No. 3 team in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll gets to add a former 5-star recruit in the middle of the college basketball season, but that is exactly what the Florida Gators did against Missouri.
Freshman Chris Walker took the floor for the first time in the 2013-14 campaign against the Tigers and helped Billy Donovan’s Gators improve their SEC record to 9-0 with a 68-58 victory. Florida has a two-game lead on the Kentucky Wildcats in the loss column and holds the inside track to an SEC championship now that Walker is in the fold.

Bologna Suspends 4 Staff Members After Forgetting to Pick Up New Player Ibson

Four members of the Bologna technical team have been suspended after it emerged that a new transfer signing was left without a welcome wagon upon his arrival in Italy.
Reuters (h/t to Yahoo!) say that the staff were meant to greet the newly acquired Ibson, who completed a late move to the Serie A outfit from Corinthians, but they simply forgot their duties.
An excerpt from the report reads: "Club president Albano Guaraldi was reportedly furious after the Brazilian arrived on Sunday, only to find there was nobody to greet him or pick him up."
