It nearly goes without saying, she’s a splendid choice.
In 2000 and 2001, Lita single-handedly changed the idea of what a Diva could be. Her girl-next-door charisma, tomboy personality and high-flying exciting moves were a breath of fresh air and about as far away from the glossy, glamorous Playboy models that made up the women's roster at the time that you could get.
It's truly amazing to look back at some old clips of her in 2000 and see just how massively over with the fans she was.
Several current female workers most notably, divas champion A.J. Lee owe her a huge debt. She opened a lot of doors.
But what other ex-Divas deserve a spot in the Hall of Fame?
Due to her prominence in the late '90's and early '00's, Chyna deserves to go in on merit alone. Come on, she was the first woman to ever win the Intercontinental belt as well as one of the original members of DX.
Alas, her deeply troubled history after leaving WWE in 2001 her life went into a tailspin which it never really recovered from may make Vince McMahon weary of the idea of featuring her. It's hard to see her adult film career going over well with PG sponsors, either.
Another name that springs to mind is Lisa Marie Varon, aka Victoria.
While Trish Stratus and Lita usually get most of the praise, Victoria's work in the early '00s was also stellar. Indeed, at her peak she was arguably a far better wrestler than even Stratus. Now that she's free of her TNA obligations, WWE could easily sign her to a Legends Deal and offer her a place in the Hall of Fame.
Nora Greenwald, aka Molly Holly, is another criminally underrated female wrestler who would be a good addition. Similar to Victoria, she may not have gotten the glory and press that Stratus did, but she was very much the glue holding the Divas division together in 2002 and 2003.
More recently, Mickie James was a popular and talented Diva who was involved with numerous entertaining storylines during her time in the company—her 2006 feud with Trish Stratus is still one of the best female programs WWE has ever done.
Could she be another potential member of the company's Hall of Fame?
Of course, if we're talking famous Divas in history, we shouldn't just include the wrestlers. You don’t always have to be in the ring to establish a legacy.
While she was fairly awful any time she wrestled, it's hard to deny that Rena “Sable” Lesnar had a significant impact on WWE in 1998 and 1999.
Raunchy, gorgeous and constantly willing to push the envelope, for many wrestling fans Sable is as synonymous with the Attitude Era as DX, Steve Austin or Mick Foley.
That Sable's husband Brock Lesnar is currently under contract may bode well for her chances of a potential Hall of Fame spot. It's not like it's going to be hard to find her or get in touch, is it?
Legendary valet Miss Elizabeth is another Diva from the past who would be a great addition to this year's Hall of Fame class.
Of course, her tragic and early death at just 42 in May 2003 might put off WWE including her it may even be why she hasn't already been put in.
But, really, few would dispute that one of the most famous managers in history deserves a spot even if it casts a bittersweet shadow over the evening. Elizabeth was so integral to the late '80's and early '90's, that it's difficult to imagine that period without her.
